Glacier Peak Lacrosse Club Return to Athletics/Activities Guidance

In efforts to mitigate the risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus, consistent with the requirements of the Healthy Washington Roadmap to Recovery and the US Lacrosse Return to Play Recommendations for Lacrosse, Glacier Peak Lacrosse Club (GPLC) will follow these guidelines and protocols. These guidelines and protocols reflect WIAA and WA DOH Approved Guidelines, issued on January 13, 2021.

Level of Risk



Boys lacrosse

Outdoor Moderate Risk

Practice and training only.Intra-team scrimmages allowed

Competitions allowed (no tournaments). Max of 200 people including spectators


Stay at Home

If your player is feeling sick or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms they should stay at home. People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. We will provide a required prescreen checklist to be completed by every player (parent/guardian) prior to the start of each practice session and/or game.

Known symptoms include:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  •  Fever of 100.3 degrees F/37.9 degrees C
  •  Chills
  •  Unusual muscle, body aches or fatigue
  •  Sore throat
  •  New loss of taste or smell
  •  Congestion or runny nose
  •  Nausea or vomiting
  •  Diarrhea


  • All gear must be disinfected, and athletes must be dressed prior to arrival.
  • No eating on the field.
  • Athletes, staff members, and volunteers may not enter the playfield until the start of the reservation and no equipment can be brought to the field until the start of the reservation. Waiting on the sidelines prior to the start of the reservation is not allowed.
  • Each athlete, staff member, and volunteer may not enter the field until they have completed the TeamScreen screening.
  • Carpooling is discouraged, but if necessary, carpool with as few people as possible and carpool with the same people each time.



  • Facemasks must be worn by athletes, staff members, and volunteers at all times.

COVID-19 Symptoms Attestation

  • Every team will complete their own attestation at their own site before leaving for a contest


  • In the event a contest must be postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, efforts will be made to reschedule the contest to a later, mutually agreeable date.

Facility Use

  • Visiting teams will arrive at the facility dressed for competition.
  • Each home school will designate a restroom for the visiting team to use.
  • Neither team will meet in locker rooms at halftime. Team meetings will be held on the field.
  • WIAA guidelines on social distancing and spacing for team benches and score tables will be followed.


  • Teams will provide their own water sources. Visiting teams may access water at the home site to fill water bottles, coolers, etc.


  • Each home school may broadcast (live stream) contests in any manner it chooses.
  • Credentialed media must contact home team for limited access into venue.

Game Management Staff

  • Home teams will staff contest as necessary. The home team is responsible for following COVID guidelines. Home teams shall not depend on visiting team members to run contests.
  • Game management staff will wear masks at all times.
  • Officials will be assigned by the local association.  A designated area will be provided if needed for the officials.  Officials will follow all of the WOA COVID protocols and monitor themselves to follow COVID guidelines.
  • No post game walk through or handshakes between teams are to take place.
  • Teams should vacate the facility in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Visiting teams will not have access to the home school’s trainer before a contest.

Designated COVID-19 Point of Contact

  • The athletic director or designee of the home school will be responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns. All staff and attendees should know who this person or office is and how to contact them.


  • Athletes, staff members, and volunteers must vacate the field within 15 minutes of the end of the reservation.
  • All equipment and garbage must be removed from the field within 15 minutes of the end of the reservation.
  • Attendance records will be kept for 28 days from the date of the event to assist with contact tracing.
